NYIP – A Soulslike Game Prototype Inspired by the Battle of Kosovo
---
With NYIP, I wanted to challenge myself by developing a playable demo for a soulslike combat game with an isometric perspective, similar to the style of Diablo. My goal was to learn and better understand the full process of creating a video game from the ground up, from concept and worldbuilding to gameplay implementation and polish.
---
This project is particularly personal to me, as it draws inspiration from the Battle of Kosovo in 1389, a key historical moment that shaped the region’s mythos and identity. To my knowledge, NYIP is the first soulslike game ever to be inspired by this event.
---
I didn’t work alone. Along the way, incredibly talented people joined the project, contributing modeling, UI/UX design, and production support. The assets used in the demo are a mix of custom-made models, Megascans, and purchased assets.
---
The demo is available now on Steam, and I’d love to hear your thoughts if you give it a try. Feedback is more than welcome!
